A New Chapter: From Australia to Thailand

My Own Big Move Abroad

This past month marked a big personal and professional move, I’ve officially relocated to Hua Hin, Thailand.

While this change brings a more relaxed lifestyle, it’s also opened incredible new opportunities.

Being based in Asia gives me the chance to grow both SportsFX and CB3 Global Payments, helping athletes, expats, and high-net-worth individuals navigate international finances with smarter strategies and better outcomes.

And it didn’t take long for Thailand to remind me why real-world stories are the most powerful of all…

Pone Kingpetch, Hua Hin Boxing Legend

🥊 Pone Kingpetch – The Local Hero Who Took on the World

While exploring my new hometown of Hua Hin, I stumbled across a statue tucked away in a quiet park. Curiosity led me to discover the incredible story of Pone Kingpetch, a local boy who became Thailand’s first-ever world boxing champion.

From humble beginnings, Kingpetch rose to become a three-time world champion, fighting and winning on the biggest stages in Japan, Italy, and the United States.

And he did it at a time when athletes had no agents, no financial advisors, and no support teams. Just raw talent, belief, and the courage to step onto the world stage alone.

It felt only right to dig deeper into his story and share it as the lead feature on The Overseas Athlete this month.

🎙 Coming Soon: Global Athlete Pioneers Series

  • This discovery has inspired a new content series where I’ll look to highlight legendary athletes who crossed borders before the era of modern sports management.

  • “These are the stories of athletes who built legacies without agents, financial advisors, or social media fame, just pure talent and belief.”

📈 Currency Update: The AUD Makes a Strong Comeback

After a challenging start to the year, the Australian Dollar (AUD) has made a solid recovery, recently climbing back above the key psychological level of USD 0.65.

Positive Trade Talks Spark a Lift for the Aussie but Is This Just the Beginning?

Markets love certainty and after months of tariff wars and trade tensions, the recent handshake between the US and China has given investors exactly that. The result? A global relief rally across stocks and currencies.

While the US dollar surged on the initial news, analysts are already calling this a bear market correction rather than the start of new dollar dominance. Longer term, the real winners could be risk-sensitive currencies like the Australian dollar, which just posted its biggest daily gain against the Japanese yen and Swiss franc since April.

Here’s why this matters:
✔️ Trade peace reduces global recession fears
✔️ Investors start moving capital back into growth-focused markets
✔️ Currencies like the AUD and NZD, often seen as proxies for China’s growth, stand to benefit.

Most Australian Dollar charts against, GBP, JPY, USD, EUR are all looking very simialr with a bottom around 6 weeks ago, and a recovery since then:

For anyone earning, investing, or transferring funds in AUD, this could be the early stages of a broader recovery. And as always, timing is everything in currency markets.

I’m happy to discuss strategies if you’re looking to make the most of these movements.

📈 Other Markets Recap
